Thermally Modified Iroko Charred to Perfection
Grimsá is borne out of the charred, Yakisugi style with a colorful twist. The deep caramel brown of thermally modified Iroko takes the Teak look to a different, fantastical place, much like the Icelandic river that is its namesake. A place steeped in legends of monsters and trolls, Grimsá used for your cladding will give your project a unique look. Thermally modified Iroko creates a dimensionally stable clapboard or deck board with a highly interesting look.
Iroko is an African wood with a striking similarity in color to Genuine Teak. But the tree is very large meaning that thickness, width, and length specifications have practically no limit. This is a great Teak alternative when wide profiles and long boards are required. Thermal modification burns off all the sugars and moisture making it nearly water proof and completely dimensionally stable.
